The Art of Finding Your Joy…. Blissology

It’s that time of year again… With all the extra stimulation and madness that goes along with the holidays it is time for me to start my Blissology inspired practice. I have been doing this for the past few years and I find that it really helps to balance out the über excess of holiday madness.

This is one of my favorite places to practice...

What is Blissology and how does it help?

A few years ago I came across Eion Finn who is a Canadian yogi that has put together Blissology. Blissology as it may  seem is the study of finding your BLISS. Well when I saw that I was all in! You see self-study is a favorite pastime of mine and anything that can help me and help others to relax and find balance is groovy in my book.  So I found out that he was coming to Charlottesville and went to his class. I studied his five main ways to access my bliss and practiced them….Daily…. For 4 weeks…. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh

  1. Yoga Just jump on your mat!
  2. Meditation – 2-30 minutes daily…or more…
  3. Nature Appreciation – Go outside and hug a tree!
  4. Food Awareness –  Learn about and celebrate real foods.
  5. Gratitude – Such a simple and profound practice.
  6. Wild CardLove this one!

I have decided to incorporate Blissology into my month of December for the past few years and do you know what has happened? Woooop! I have consciously found and cultivated my BLISS at a time of the year that for me has always seemed a bit nuts.

So there you have it. Now go find your BLISS…… And know that you now have the tools to find it anytime! Yay!!!
