Not your Grandma’s Egg Nog

This recipe is one that I’ve perfected over years of trial & error. It’s literally the most decadent part of the Holidays and we make one batch that lasts us for probably a week with lots of friends and family coming over. There is nothing “health food” about it other than the fact that all ingredients are well sourced, organic and made with love.

Let me know if you make it and tell me how you like it❤️

Egg Nog

  • 12 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Himalayan salt
  • 4 cups milk
  • 4 cups heavy whipping cream for the base plus 2 cups for the top
  • I quart vanilla ice cream
  • 3 cups Makers Mark
  • 2 cups Remy Martin cognac
  • 1/2 c Meyer”s dark rum
  • Separate eggs reserving whites for the top. Add yolks, sugar & salt to mixer & beat until light yellow. Add milk, 4 cups whipped cream & booze to the egg mixture. Let sit a few hours in fridge to “cook” the eggs.
  • When ready to serve whip egg whites to a stif peak with a touch of sugar. Whip remaining two cups of whipping cream with a touch of sugar. Fold both into liquid base. Fold ice cream in as well (I like it in smaller pieces)
  • Serve in small cups (you saw the alcohol right?!!) with fresh nutmeg sprinkled on top.
  • Love & Happy Holidays, Celeste
