So the question is… “Dr. C why do you love Lululemon so much?”

This is a good one. For those of you who do not know, Lululemon Athletica is a yoga inspired athletic clothing company that is based out of Vancouver Canada. ( I just happen to love Canadians) I was introduced to Lulu in my frequent trips into Canada and then in the US. I found myself searching the cities that I was traveling to for Lulu stores. Did you know that Montreal has 4!!!! Yes, I went to every one of them. Thank goodness for my patient and like-minded husband! So over the past 10 or so years that I have been compelled to pay homage to Lulu, I have probably visited stores in at least 10 states, maybe more.

But why?!?!?!

This is the question that I started to ask myself. Why was I so in love with this company? What was it that was so compelling about a pair of yoga pants? They are pretty amazing and move with my body in all of my various expressions of joyful movement….             But, why?

What lets you shine brighter?

After much thought I finally figured it out! Woooohoooooo

What I figured out is that it is not love of the clothes, it is love of myself. As many of you know I am very active. Whether it is in my offices adjusting patients, in the garden lugging compost, rollerblading on the board walk , doing yoga anywhere and everywhere, walking in the park, or pretty much anywhere in between. I wear Lulu!!! I even wore Lulu throughout both of my pregnancies. I love the way it lets me express my Me-ness. I love the way it allows me to flow effortlessly from one activity to the other without batting an eyelash about how I am dressed. I feel amazing. I feel cute. I feel supported. I feel like my efforts and sweat are celebrated. I feel like the miracle that is my body is rejoiced in ways that not many things can convey. Certainly not clothing!

So the long and short of it is I really just love myself. And Lulu lets me be more effortless in that love. So for those of you who have not tried it check it out! You know that you need to move more to live better. So why don’t you do that in a groovy pair of wonder under crops or a savasana scarf? Try it I think that you will like it…. Or LOVE it!!!!

Dr. Mark even wears Lulu pants every day in the office. Yes, they make a fine pair of mens’ dress pants that move like a workout pant.

Oh yea, and by the way we finally got a Lululemon store in Virginia Beach. Do you know when it opened? On my birthday!!! So you see, we are connected.

And that is why I love Lulu!
